PSYCHIATRY
Hands-On for Medical Students:
- Hands-on: 100% outpatient clinic setting.
- Location: Brooklyn & Staten Island
- The clinical setting is composed of mainly a 25-30/day patient care work schedule. The clinic runs from Monday to Thursday: 8.45 am to 5 pm. 2 days each at Brooklyn and Staten Island. In that time, students will be exposed to and engaged in performing physical examinations, presenting clinical cases, direct access to patient care, and the clinic’s EMR system.
- Participants will be writing their H/Ps and reviewing medications. They will be exposed to Neurology and Psychiatry cases like Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Stroke, Insomnia, Parkinson’s disease, Headache, Neck pain, ADD, ADHD, Dementia and related disorders, Memory disorders, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, Manic disorders, movement disorders, Fibromyalgia, Migraine, Vertigo, etc.
- Procedures done at the office include Nerve Conduction Studies, Electromyography(EMG), Electroencephalography (EEG), etc.
- The Attending (doctor) is affiliated to 2 Hospitals: NYU and NYC Presbyterian, and they have a Neurology and Psychiatry residency program. Letters of recommendation will also be issued based on the merit of the individual.
- Letters of recommendation will be given on hospital letterheads. It is also imperative that participants appear on time and have reliable access to transportation, and be ready and capable of writing and being familiar with performing histories and physical exams on patients.
Observership for Graduates:
- Observership: 100% outpatient clinic setting.
- Location: Brooklyn & Staten Island

- Participants will be exposed to Neurology and Psychiatry cases like Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Stroke, Insomnia, Parkinson’s disease, Headache, Neck pain, ADD, ADHD, Dementia and related disorders, Memory disorders, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, Manic disorders, movement disorders, Fibromyalgia, Migraine, Vertigo, etc.

- Participants will observe in the clinic setting and will shadow the attending in that capacity at the clinic.
