PATHOLOGY
TELE-MEDICINE ROTATION (PTM1)

Pathology Telemedicine Program:

Applicants will be using platforms like Google meet/Zoom, etc. for the Tele-rotation and can be accessed from any part of the world. All applicants must protect the patient’s health information to maintain HIPAA compliance.

Rotation Details:

  • Location: New Jersey
  • Applicants will get a chance to participate in the rotation virtually through Telerotations conducted in a Private Lab setting.
  • All rotating applicants will be given an orientation before the rotation.
  • The Lab runs 24 hours a day x 7 days a week.
    *Please note: Timings may vary based on the Attending’s schedule.
  • It is a huge lab with pathologists, laboratory technicians, assistants, etc.
  • Area of Focus: hematopathology, flow cytometry, genetics, PCR, cytogenetics, Morphology/IHC, Disease focused NGS, specimens, Histology, Molecular, karyotype, FISH, etc.
  • Letters of recommendation will be issued based on the merit of the individual.
  • Letters of recommendation will be given on Private Lab’s Letterhead.

Requirements/Expectations from the student:

  • Access to high-speed internet and devices like laptops/tablets/phones for using software apps like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Availability during regular office hours. (Eastern Time/New York Time).
  • Professional dress code and appearance.
  • Quiet workspace at the remote location with no background disturbance.
