ENDOCRINOLOGY
Hands-On for Medical Students:
- Hands-on: 100% Outpatient clinic setting.
- Location: Houston, Texas (Richmond & Pearland)

Rotation schedule:
Mondays and Tuesdays - 08:00 am to 12:00 pm CDT (Central Daylight Time),
Thursdays - 08:00 am to 02:00 pm CDT (Central Daylight Time).
*Please note: Timings may vary based on patient appointments. - Students will be exposed to, and engaged in, presenting clinical cases, direct access to patient care, the EMR system, writing their own H/Ps, reviewing medications, reading Imaging and lab results under the supervision of the attending.
- Students will get to see patients on Monday and Tuesday. Other days students spend time either taking history if in person/didactics, PowerPoint presentation on an Endocrine topic. Students are given an opportunity to participate in the case discussion, MCQs, etc.
- Area of focus includes Diabetes, HTN, HL, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Thyroid nodules, Osteoporosis, Internal Medicine assessment, Calcium and Parathyroid disorders, and General Endocrine disorders.
- The Attending (doctor) is affiliated with West Houston Hospital.
- Letters of recommendation will be issued based on the merit of the individual. Letters of recommendation will be given on the Private Clinic’s Letterhead mentioning the Doctor's affiliation with the Hospital.
- It is imperative that participants appear on time, have reliable access to transportation, are capable of writing, and are familiar with history-taking.
Observership for Graduates:
- Observership: 100% Outpatient clinic setting.
- Location: Houston, Texas (Richmond & Pearland)

*Please note: Timings may vary based on patient appointments. - Participants doing Observership will get to see a wide variety of cases: Diabetes, HTN, HL, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Thyroid nodules, Osteoporosis, Internal Medicine assessment, Calcium and Parathyroid disorders, and General Endocrine disorders.
- Participants will observe in the clinic setting and will shadow the attending in that capacity at the clinic.
- The Attending (doctor) is affiliated with West Houston Hospital.
- Letters of recommendation will be issued based on the merit of the individual. Letters of recommendation will be given on the Private Clinic’s Letterhead mentioning the Doctor's affiliation with the Hospital.
- It is imperative that participants appear on time and have reliable access to transportation.
Cost of rotation: $1600 per 4 weeks.
