HEMATOLOGY-ONCOLOGY
TELE-MEDICINE ROTATION
Hematology-Oncology Tele-Medicine Program:
Applicants will be using platforms like Microsoft Teams/Zoom, etc. for the Tele-rotation and can be accessed from any part of the world. All applicants must protect the patient’s health information to maintain HIPAA compliance.
Rotation Details:
- Applicants will get a chance to participate in the rotation through Telemedicine conducted in an Outpatient clinic setting.
- Location: New York
- All rotating applicants will be given an orientation before the rotation.
- Applicants will be given access to the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) under the supervision of the attending.
- This will help the medical students/graduates in developing their questioning skills with minimal handed information as in a simulated Step 2 CS exam.
- This will help the applicants develop their questioning skills with minimal-handed information.
- Patient encounters will be followed by case presentations to Dr. Khillan and discussing patient management.
- Didactics will be conducted during the rotation.
- Participants will get an opportunity to present a case or a topic to the entire team, followed by case discussion.

Office hours: Monday to Thursday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Time (New York Time).
*Please note: Timings may vary based on patient appointments. - The Attending (doctor) is a clinical affiliate of Mount Sinai Hospital, NewYork - Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and Brooklyn One Health. All hospitals have an Internal Medicine Residency Program.
- Letters of recommendation will be issued based on the merit of the individual.
- Letters of recommendation will be issued on Hospital letterhead.
Requirements/Expectations from the applicant:
- Access to high-speed internet and devices like laptops/tablets/phones for using software apps like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Availability during regular office hours. (Eastern Time/New York Time).
- Professional dress code and appearance.
- Quiet workspace at the remote location with no background disturbance.
