PATHOLOGY (P1)
Hands-On for Medical Students:
- Hands-on: 100% Outpatient clinic setting.
- Location: New York

Rotation schedule:
Monday to Thursday - 10:00 am to 6:00 pm ET (New York Time).
*Please note: Timings may vary based on the Attending’s schedule. - Areas of focus will be Hematopathology. Students will get an opportunity to review pathology for cancer patients, review and order next generation sequencing conduct tumor boards.
- Opportunity to participate in daily didactics and once a week present pathology related presentations.
- Students will be exposed to and engaged in making Blood smears, staining them, and reviewing them under a microscope and report for 20-30 patients a day.
- Students will also get opportunities to assist the Attending while doing bone marrow biopsies, staining them, and reviewing them.
- The Attending (doctor) is a clinical affiliate of Mount Sinai Hospital, NewYork - Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and Brooklyn One Health.
- Letters of recommendation will be issued based on the merit of the individual. Letters of recommendation will be given on Hospital Letterhead.
- It is imperative that participants appear on time and have reliable access to transportation.
Observership for Graduates:
- Observership: 100% Outpatient clinic setting.
- Location: New York

*Please note: Timings may vary based on the Attending’s schedule. - Participants doing Observership will observe a wide variety of cases in hematopathology, pathology for cancer patients, tumor boards, and next generation sequencing.
- Opportunity to participate in daily didactics and once a week present pathology related presentations.
- Participants will shadow the attending while making Blood smears, staining them, and reviewing them under a microscope and report for 20-30 patients a day.
- Participants will get to observe the Attending while doing bone marrow biopsy, staining them, and reviewing them.
- The Attending (doctor) is a clinical affiliate of Mount Sinai Hospital, NewYork Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and Brooklyn One Health.

Cost of rotation: $1600 per 4 weeks.
